Each month, Edgemont focuses on a theme of Character Development. A list of the themes below:

  • September: Responsibility
  • October: Respect
  • November: Compassion
  • December: Generosity
  • January: Perseverance
  • February: Kindness
  • March: Honesty
  • April: Self-Control
  • May: Citizenship
  • June: Sportsmanship

Edgemont’s goal is to encourage and offer a safe environment where children learn the curriculum and socially acceptable ways to interact with each other with respect, honesty, compassion and self-control. Our teachers formulate classroom discussions, activities and lessons around the month’s theme as appropriate. Children are encouraged to stop and think about their decisions and find socially acceptable ways to problem solve in their environment. Additional support is often provided to students in need on an as needed basis.
