Edgemont's students spent the month of February studying African-American History. Through writing, art, songs, dance, daily fact announcements, and even math, students learned about the history, culture and traditions of African-Americans. Edgemont was treated to a visit from storyteller Rochele Coleman who acted out the life of African-American cowboy Nat Love. 3rd graders learned about an influential African-American person from history. They wrote reports and drew portraits. 1st graders created an African-American Inventors Museum. Kindergarten students perform Ella Fitzgerald's famous song "A Tisket, A Tasket" holding their "little yellow baskets"
